We have an experienced and diverse team who are as ambitious about growing a successful company as we are about making an impact.

We’re a team of around 55 mixed discipline individuals, split into 6 cross-functional squads. We focus on outcomes, not output, hence we like to be quite experimental and study the data to uncover where the real value is for our customers. Squads have the autonomy to decide how they want to work best, but it just so happens that all squads currently work in 2 week sprints, with the goal of delivering a thin vertical slice of value every iteration.

Requirements

This role sits inside our Product and Engineering team; you’ll be embedded into our data team where you’ll be responsible for building out our Sisense-powered client-facing analytics offering. You will be enabling clients to understand and act on their ESG data to drive business change. You will assist both internal teams and clients in understanding, and diving into, our analytics offering. You will shape creative solutions, manage stakeholder involvement from execs to engineers, and see our analytics platform through to a successful delivery.

This is a contract-based remote position.

• Progressing the organization's mission by building and developing our Sisense analytics platform.
• Working with clients and internal experts to understand client analytics needs, and using this feedback to design out our analytics offering.
• Leading the designing, data modeling, and building out of dashboards in Sisense at the request of clients and internal stakeholders.
• Training up Novata's own Sisense champions and creating educational materials.
• Improving and optimizing the implementation of Sisense for future growth and scalability.
• Fulfilling additional duties as required.

• Sisense and Python libraries (e.g. pyplot and plotly) for client-facing data visualization.
• Amplitude, Datadog and Metabase for internal visualization.
• Snowflake for our Data Warehouse, Postgres for our Transactional Database.
• Python, Spark (AWS Glue) and dbt for our data pipelines.
• Advanced Data Modelling, including OLTP, OLAP, and Data Vault methodologies.
• AWS for infrastructure, specifically Lambda, Event Bridge, EKS, RDS and S3.
• Git for managing change.
• Docker to package our services into containers.
• Terraform to define and orchestrate our infrastructure.

• 1+ year of experience building Sisense dashboards and visualizations.
• 3+ years of experience in a relevant field: BI Developers, BAs, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Visualization Engineers are all encouraged to apply.
• Strong, demonstrable technical skills in SQL, database modeling, and data visualization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A start-up mentality, are responsible, energetic, ambitious, adaptable and willing to get your hands dirty wrangling data.
• Good judgment, and aren’t afraid to make decisions and act with purpose and intention to progress our mission.
• A pragmatic approach to problem solving, and an appreciation of the importance of building the right thing vs building the thing right.

Our interview process involves 3 main stages.

1. An initial screening call where we’ll ask questions about your current and recent roles to better understand your skillset.
2. A call with one or more members of the data team to understand your technical background.
3. A final stage interview with a member of our product team to understand how you like to work, and how that fits with our culture and values.

Benefits

• This role is on a contract basis with a pay-rate between 450 - 550 per day.
