Job Description

Project Technical Consultant
Based:
London, with hybrid working
Salary: Up to 60k, depending on experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of projects, guiding junior team members, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions. The successful candidate will be a key member of our Projects Delivery Team consisting of existing technical consultants, project engineers and project managers.

The projects the successful candidate will work on will be varied and will include, transformation amp; migration projects for new and existing customers, MS server migrations amp; upgrades (on-prem), Office 365 migrations, network and hardware installations.

The role is a mixture of remote based working from home, working from customer sites (mostly based in London) and working from the Smartdesc Office (also based in London).

Experience amp; Non-Technical Skills

  • Experience working for a managed service provider or IT outsourcing company
  • Experience working independently on technical migrations and installations
  • Experience working as part of a busy team and keeping a constant dialogue flowing
  • Experience working at customer sites and liaising with high-level executives
  • A commitment to knowledge sharing and clear, detailed documentation
  • Welcoming, personable, articulate, literate, conscientious
  • help and discuss ideas and techniques.
  • The ability to explain technical concepts in lay terms without being patronising
  • The ability to multi-task and manage time under pressure
  • The ability to design and plan technical solutions.

Technical Skills

  • strong background skills and experience on networking.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Office 365 in terms of deployment, configuration and migrations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of working in latest MS Server environments and technologies.
  • Azure: experience of managing and maintaining servers and other services in Azure. Azure Qualifications advantageous.
  • Autopilot/ Intune deployment knowledge
  • Virtualization: strong knowledge of working with hypervisor environments both VMWare and Hyper-V, Hyper-V clustering knowledge a plus.
  • Networking: Good knowledge of networking including deployment of firewalls / switches.
  • File Servers: Experience migrating file servers, user profiles and other data.
  • Knowledge of varied cloud backup and on-prem devices advantageous
  • Ability to troubleshoot Third Party software and liaise with their support desks
  • Knowledge of Cloud desktops / working with Data Centres Beneficial
  • Knowledge of Mimecast or cloud email security beneficial
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems and working to ITSM tools

Qualifications

The following industry standard certifications are desirable;

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Cloud Platform amp; Infrastructure
  • Azure Certifications.
