Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: 25000 per annum

As a Team Leader, you will guide your team under the direction of the Senior Product Owner-SLT Guild, Daisy Cave. You will coach and empower your team to be the best they can be, keeping them up to date on the latest guidance, business updates and processes.

You will work with the Leaders team who produce content to support all levels of leaders within schools. This could be summaries of DfE or Ofsted documents, content to support school improvement or to develop leadership capacity within school and CPD materials. We are also producing audio, video and blog content. Our customers are headteachers, school governors and teachers on their own leadership journeys. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as team leader. The majority of your time will be spent working with Content Writers, Editors, Designers and those responsible for Marketing and Partnerships. In this role, you will also be researching and writing content to support teachers and leaders in schools. You will be engaging with product priorities to facilitate the highest possible quality of content for our customers.

Your weekly activity could include:

  • creating and maintaining a culture of problem solving and positivity
  • tracking and supporting with team member productivity through line management (including AAAs and 1:1s)
  • creating measurable targets with team members
  • sensitively offering feedback, advice and support to our team where needed
  • demonstrating excellent communication skills with the writers, designers and team members that you collaborate with
  • managing the Jira production board
  • upholding the Twinkl policies and procedures
  • researching and writing educational content;
  • checking your own content for spelling, punctuation, grammar, curriculum relevance and factual accuracy;
  • support the Segment Manager’s aims and direction for The Leaders Team

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their expertise with others in their team. Knowledge of or willingness to learn about school leadership would be an advantage, although all school experience will be of benefit. This position can take place at Sheffield HQ or it can be a work-from-home, flexible position. The role requires some weekday availability, but the remaining hours can be agreed between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments and business needs.

In this role, you will learn:

  • to lead and manage individuals and a team
  • to use the Twinkl production systems
  • to optimise resources for SEO purposes
  • to work in ‘agile’ teams, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines
  • to collaborate with educational professionals based across the UK through our company focus groups and customer feedback requests
  • to provide reliable, consistent and rigorous line management
  • to handle difficult conversations

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • have completed primary qualified teacher status: PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent;
  • have 2 years of full primary classroom teaching experience after QTS is complete;
  • be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
  • have detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum in England;
  • be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and GSuite (Docs, Slides etc.);
  • understand the teaching community in England, knowing their unique pressures and current educational trends;
  • have a drive for continuous professional development;
  • have access to a reliable computer or laptop with a fast broadband speed (if remote) - you will be responsible for maintenance/repairs etc.
