Your dream role:

As part of the HR Team the learning and development (Lamp;D) coordinator is responsible for the organisation, scheduling, and implementation of all required training for the Scarborough ADL site. You will be responsible for leading all site training and development opportunities and mandatory, compliance and Hamp;S training requirements for staff of all levels, from interns to senior management. In addition to developing learning programmes internally, Lamp;D coordinators may use external providers, including agencies and subject-matter experts, to train people.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all training and development provided has a clearly identified business objective to be achieved.
  • Liaising with Key Stakeholders to identify training needs.
  • Targeting our support at the identified needs of both groups and individuals
  • Achieving excellence in our programmes by developing and delivering training, which is motivational, valued and demonstrably improves the productivity of the participants.
  • Constantly improving our programme content, delivery methods, and skills through regular research, feedback, and evaluation
  • To design, deliver and evaluate training requirements in line with business needs.
  • Ensuring that training complies with all appropriate standards and regulations.
  • To ensure adherence to statutory and industry requirements
  • To manage training records and databases
  • Revise programmes as a result of evaluation or changing business needs.
  • Assist to increase Health and Safety awareness and help reduce accident statistics.
  • To undertake technical / Skills training within the site
  • To manage and coordinate the Apprentice and Trainee Vehicle Builder programme to ensure the development of skills in line with Alexander Dennis requirements.
  • To supervise, improve and evaluate the delivery of the apprenticeship and graduate programmes.
  • To identify and record the current competencies of vehicle builders to support and maintain ISO accreditation.
  • To prepare forward resource plans to agree with the HR Manager
  • To support the introduction of new products / methods across Alexander Dennis manufacturing sites either as an individual or a team leader
  • To support CI Activities and lean implementation
  • To liaise with other departments / suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of specific training initiatives.
  • Ensure training is cost effective and within budget.
  • Produce training material, as required.
  • Effective management of the HR Training budget
  • Maximisation of external training opportunities for ADL Scarborough

What you will bring:

  • Possess or be willing to work towards appropriate Training Development Lead Body qualification for assessment of occupational competency and internal verification.
  • Be qualified by experience or hold HNC or equivalent in Training and Development, or similar discipline.
  • Holder of a current teaching or training qualification, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • Should be an experienced time served tradesperson with a firm grasp of Vehicle technology / methodology.
  • Must have a detailed knowledge of bus bodies / vehicle systems; possess sufficient occupational competence to practically demonstrate current best practice in a wide
