Lead Engineer Connected Vehicle Systems

Location: Any UK Site

Your dream role:

  • We have an excellent opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join the team and design, develop and maintain the connected vehicle systems for Alexander Dennis products. The main responsibilities of the role will be:
  • Lead and undertake the end-to-end design, development, verification and on-time delivery of connected vehicle platform hardware and software systems in accordance with appropriate standards.
  • Develop, manage and maintain vehicle data gateway, network, interfaces, and remote connectivity.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Alexander Dennis telematics solution across products, working across the group to introduce new features and benefits for both internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical expertise and a strategic outlook to lead the innovative development of the
  • connected vehicle platform, including V2X connectivity, cyber security, ADAS integration and telemetry.
  • Lead teams of on-shore and off-shore engineers and design partners on concurrent projects to introduce fully tested solutions to production.
  • Ensure software management, development and revision control processes provide traceability and controlled access to vehicle software applications and documentation through effective Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
  • Undertake and lead end-to-end model-based software development through a v-model approach, taking lead responsibility for specific projects or changes from concept through to engineering sign-off and release, with verification through simulation, Hardware-In-Loop rig and vehicle-level integration tests.
  • Interface directly with internal and external customers on technical issues and requirements capture. Ensuring high customer satisfaction through safe, reliable and well supported implementations.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation and papers, generating designs and documents to the relevant quality and safety standards.
  • Lead the definition of and compliance with relevant internal and international standards, best practice and legislation with particular focus on cyber security.
  • Contribute to a strategy to develop and maintain intuitive diagnostics and telematics systems to provide enhanced service and operational capabilities, including remote diagnostics and over the-air updates.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate activities with internal and external partners or suppliers to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets for each project.
