Your dream role:

An exciting opportunity for a Materials Lead to join our successful, international business and play a key role in the ADL supply chain team. You will act as main liaison between the Operations team and Supply Chain team and will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Business Unit objectives.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure that material is delivered on time, to an acceptable quality standard in line with the production schedule/requirements.
  • Ensure risks are identified early, on a contract-by-contract basis, whilst helping to drive both reactive and proactive solutions.
  • Ensure all operational targets related to your nominated business unit are achieved.
  • Work with the BU and Supply Chain Teams to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of material supply.
  • Take the lead on identification of risk, escalating within their business unit through performing clean to build checks at a contract-by-contract level.
  • Work with the BU Team to identify and maintain A, B, C indicators for each part to support the classification of issues and help identify the optimum escalation route.
  • To be the conduit between the operational business unit and the wider supply chain team in relation to materials not yet on site, ensure day by day priorities are identified. Complete this loop 360 by ensuring the material planners have all material arrival dates related to current and upcoming builds are populated.
  • Understanding of utilization of key MRP master data settings to optimize inventory levels this may include recommendations on safety stock amp; lead times.
  • Where appropriate, contribute to solving supply escalations.
  • Work with stakeholders both inside and outside of the business unit to improve material presentation to line contributing towards increased efficiency and reduced cost.
  • Supply Chain sign off on commercial spec amends.
  • Supply Chain representation and input at NPD project meetings where appropriate.
  • Pre review and sign off on Mods introduced within supply lead time.
  • Chair Daily Supply Chain Tier 3 Meetings relevant to their Business Unit.
  • Ensure all reports and metrics are updated as and when required.
  • Undertake any additional requests as appropriate.

What you will bring:

  • HNC preferable
  • CIPS or APICS desirable
  • An understanding of ISO90001 standard.
  • 5 years + experience in a fast-moving materials environment is preferred but not essential.
  • First class communication skills and ability to influence and build rapport across multi disciplined teams at all levels.

  • Aptitude and appetite for problem solving and continuous improvement - ability to seek pro-active solutions to supply chain issues.
