What makes us unique? Our people. We are looking for a talented Accounts Supervisor to join our fast-paced finance team and play a pivotal role in the next stage of our company’s growth and help us to continue to develop as Europe’s biggest Spa travel company.

Purpose

As a key member of the finance team, the Accounts Supervisor will report to the Financial Controller. The role is based in Brighton, leading the small accounts team based there. We are looking for a confident, self-starter who will deliver a quality accounts function and work closely with the wider business. The role has an AP bias and as a result, would suit someone who has experience in a high transaction volume environment. Though a broad accounts experience is also an advantage.

ResponsibilitiesAP
  • Receive, verify and process a high volume of invoices
  • Weekly reconciliation between the Sales and Finance systems
  • Oversee the management of the AP inbox and ensure the team are responding to supplier queries within SLAs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Spabreaks wider business (Product, Sales and Customer Experience teams)
  • Audit the payment run on a fortnightly basis in preparation for authorisation
  • Audit bank reconciliations and other key controls produced by the AP team
  • Ensure all payments are allocated and remittances produced
  • Reconciliation of corporate credit cards
AR amp; Cash
  • Audit daily bank reconciliations
  • Provide cover for daily posting and reconciliation of customer receipts
  • Oversee daily reconciliation between the Sales and Finance systems
  • Manage the chargeback and refunds process in conjunction with the customer experience team
Other
  • Day to day management of the small team, managing workload and output
  • Ensure all weekly reporting is accurate and communicated to senior management on a timely basis
  • Manage month end process, including reviewing amp; posting revenue amp; expenses, reconciling key balance sheet accounts and ensuring transactions have been posted inline with accounting standards
  • Provide cover amp; support for Management Accountant and Financial Controller
  • Provide cover amp; support for HR amp; Payroll function
  • Ensure robust controls are in place, implement and create new processes amp; controls as required
  • Recommend improvements to processes amp; controls
  • Responsible for key weekly and monthly reconciliations, reporting amp; resolving anomalies
  • Review and prepare supplier changes made on Sage
  • Verify that all transactions comply with the financial policies and procedures
  • Support Management to ensure a smooth and timely annual external Audit

Requirements

  • Finance professional with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an accounts payable and 2 years in accounts receivable/cash function.
  • Management/supervisory experience essential
  • Experience using SAGE 200 desirable
  • Travel industry experience desirable
  • Self-motivated and focused with the ability to work proactively dealing with issues
  • Highly organised and focused on delivery
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility
  • Able to build relationships across all levels of the organisation and work in a team environment
  • Champion for change
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
