Job Description

Location: Remote (must be based in the UK)

Annual Salary: 23, 000 per annum pro rata (11.79 a hour approx)

Contract: 15 hours per week

You’ll be joining a team of passionate teachers working to create Twinkl’s online SaLT content for educators across the UK. Most of your time will be spent working with other Content Writers and Editors, engaging with product priorities to facilitate the highest possible quality of teacher content for our customers. Your weekly activities could include:

  • ideating, researching and creating new resources to support Speech and Language teaching and learning across the curriculum for KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4.
  • responding to editorial feedback and working alongside colleagues to elevate a resource to an excellent standard.
  • sharing knowledge of how to include, support and further challenge learners with SEND across curriculum subjects with the team, to write a variety of resources that engage learners and appeal to teachers.
  • using your knowledge of working with children with SEND
  • producing resources that respond to customer needs and current teaching methodologies.
  • meeting with other members of the team to discuss and develop new ideas.
  • prepare and host a Teachmeet presentation for educators and practitioners every half term.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community, and keen to share their expertise in including learners with speech and language needs in the classroom with others in their team. We welcome applications from diverse candidates. This position is remote and the hours can be worked flexibly with the expectation that you will have good daytime availability for training, meetings, collaboration and ongoing CPD, particularly in your training period/first month. You would need to be available around our core hours (10 am-2 pm) Mon-Fri, on a minimum of 2 days per week.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • have gained a degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • be a qualified, experienced and confident practitioner in the delivery of Colourful Semantics and Attention Autism.
  • be able to prepare and deliver a presentation every half term based on speech and language and the resources Twinkl creates.
  • be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team.
  • be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and G Suite.
  • have a drive for continuous professional development.

In this role, you will learn:

  • how to ideate and create diverse, inclusive, engaging and varied resources for children and teachers.
  • how to work in ‘agile’ teams, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines.
  • how to collaborate with educational professionals based across the UK through our company focus groups and customer feedback requests.
  • how to apply your experience to create new products, from ideation stage to publication.
  • how to use Project Tracking software as well as other in-house systems.

  • Vanessa Sutton - Your Line Manager
  • Our team of qualified teachers and practitioners including a Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist will write, edit and produce content for the Inclusion team and beyond
  • Our amazing in-house design and illustration teams collaborate daily to produce the beautiful, polished resources that Twinkl is known for.
