You’ll join our legal team of 4 lawyers as Legal Counsel (Regulatory) reporting to the Head of Legal and play a key role in work as varied as expansion into new markets, new product launches and ongoing regulatory compliance.
You’ll work closely with all business functions and be an expert at communicating legal issues to non-lawyers and balancing business and legal perspectives. You’re a self-starter who is comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone to drive business growth by tackling the laws and regulations of new markets (with support from local counsel of course!).You- Are legally qualified with 3-7 years’ PQE
- Have Fintech / payments regulatory experience from private practice or in-house roles
- Ideally have at least 1-2 years of in-house experience (whether in a regulated company or at a regulator, eg. FCA)
- Want to focus on our obtaining licenses in new markets, upgrading existing licenses to accommodate new products, advising on any regulatory changes or issues that come up, leading or assisting with regulatory examinations and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance
- Have strong organisational skills and are able to autonomously lead multiple deliverables in a fast pace environment
- Are excited by new challenges and like understanding laws in new markets and around new financial products
- Are an exceptional communicator and able to explain complex legal concepts in simple terms
- Are comfortable operating outside your comfort zone and are solutions-minded
- Can move quickly without that affecting the quality of your work
- Are fluent in English. Bonus point for French or Arabic
