Job Description

Within the Business Development amp; Integration Direction, the Business Strategy Development department is in charge of defining the company's strategy, making it possible to best meet the expectations of markets and passengers with a view to developing revenue and optimising margins.

As our Business Strategy and Development Analyst, you will be supporting the identification and implementation of growth levers to update Eurostar's medium/long-term trajectory and achieve the objectives set in terms of traffic and revenue, in an increasingly competitive environment. You will help carry out studies to support Eurostar’s ambitions, face market evolutions and better meet customer expectations.

This is a permanent role, based in our Kings Cross office with hybrid working 2-3 days a week. There is an expectation of occasional travel to our other offices in Brussels and Paris as needed.

This role is Grade D EIL, with travel services level 2 and based in Kings Place, London.

We’re looking for someone to:

  • Conduct, in collaboration with any service providers involved, the necessary studies to understand the evolution of demand.
  • Model the impacts of exogenous developments (competition scenarios, associated response strategy and impacts on the baseline).
  • Establish (co-construct with finance department) business cases to demonstrate the relevance of development projects (fleet, offer, customer offering). Where appropriate, coordinate or contribute to their implementation.
  • Contribute to the updating of the business plan (20-year-plan) and the definition of the passenger and revenue trajectory in the medium and long term, in conjunction with the various departments concerned
  • Participate in the drafting of notes and reports for the Management Committee and the Board of Shareholders on strategic issues.

Requirements

You’ll need:

  • Significant previous experience in a similar role working as a Data or Business Analyst, with understanding of business modelling.
  • Degree and or MA within a relevant subject, or equivalent work-based experience.
  • Good understanding of finance KPI, Pamp;L construction
  • Excellent skills on MS office programme, including Powerpoint, Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience and understanding of reviewing data and transcribing detailed analyses to non-technical audiences in a clear and convincing way
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and verbal in English. Desirable to have additional languages in French and Dutch.
  • An appetite for the railway industry and/or a natural curiosity for operational topics.
