Job Description

We are looking for a Warehouse Operative for our new warehouse in Bedford.

The Warehouse Operative's role is to assist the Warehouse Manager with day to day running of the warehouse, to ensure safe inventory, and storage, correctly pick and pack products. The role also focuses on meeting delivery deadlines and ensuring the warehouse is a safe environment to work in.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Assist in planning coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly, and dispatch of goods.
  • Sign for goods received into the warehouse, update the stock system, and advise internal departments of the delivery.
  • Checking and inspec goods received and ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type, and acceptable quality.
  • Produce a work plan each day and prioritise tasks.
  • Contact courier companies to coordinate the dispatch and delivery of goods.
  • Load and unload goods from company and third-party vehicles.
  • Organise elements to pick amp; pack, and accurately update stock system.
  • Pick and pack elements accurately according to the goods out advice documentation.
  • Report any anomalies immediately so solutions can be found.
  • Operate company vehicles when necessary.
  • Produce delivery notes/consignment labels using third-party portals and store notices.
  • Support a clean, safe warehouse working environment for all staff to work in, and remove hazardous products from the site in line with Health amp; Safety regulations.
  • Build a good working relationship with internal departments such as Campaign Management, Field Support and Suppliers, and Transport Companies.
  • Support Field Support team with deliveries, this may involve working off site.

Requirements

Some previous experience of working in a warehouse environment.

Understand material/stock management techniques and inventory control methods and procedures.

Able to lift and move boxes, heavy packages, and elements without difficulty and carry out tasks as directed.

Ability to work alone or co-operatively within a team.

Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work in a methodical and tidy manner.

Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Good understanding of both the spoken and written English Language

Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, and other specialist stock tracking software - training will be provided)

Understanding of Health amp; Safety Regulations

Honesty, reliability, and an organised, methodical 'can do' approach.

Able to use own initiatives and discuss process improvements.

Forklift Licence - Counterbalance amp; Reach Truck

Able to work flexible hours e. working weekends or out-of-office hours if required ( time in lieu provided).
