How you’ll play a part.

In this role, you’ll help deliver growth for our business by bringing focus, clear methodology and strategic direction to how we manage change across the business and deliver brilliant experiences for our people. Through others, you will help shape the environment for colleagues to be successful and deliver the right outcomes for our customers.

You’ll do this by focusing on building capability for now and the future, enhancing business performance and effectiveness and delivering against priorities that satisfy the right outcomes for our customers and colleagues, as will be agreed as part of our business planning cycle.

What you’ll deliver:

  • Clear, achievable and innovative people plan and strategy which takes into account the wider change portfolio in the business, in line with risk and budget appetite.
  • A capable leader and manager community who have a clear understanding of the accountabilities of their role and create the right environment for colleagues to thrive.
  • Capable and engaged colleagues with skills, experience and behaviours for today and tomorrow to deliver high performance and growth.
  • In partnership with wider People team leadership and colleagues, an enhanced EVP, processes and experiences for colleagues and candidates which shine a light on DC Thomson as a content and product powerhouse. Our people products and propositions will be simple, accessible, joined up across the business wherever possible and will meet the diverse needs of the end user colleague population.
  • Effective ways of working across the business, where connectedness and collaboration flows in and across teams.
  • A planful approach to short and medium term talent acquisition, working with partners and leveraging innovative strategies to effectively position DC Thomson as a great place to build the skills and capabilities to meet the future needs of work.
  • Leadership of a high performing People amp; Culture team who can meet the expectations of stakeholders and deliver people, change and culture priorities in time and in scope.
  • Own and deliver subject matter expertise and projects including wellbeing, DEI, performance, OD, experience and building skills through development and talent acquisition, with a focus on building capability in the team on these topics.
  • Good working relationships with key partners and suppliers who support delivery of colleague proposition, in areas such as technology, rewards, wellbeing and development.

Requirements

What you’ll bring:

  • Ability to build effective and open working relationships with your team as well as wider stakeholders, such as senior leadership, board and departments across the business.
  • Future focused thinking with the ability to flex around changing priorities and needs.
  • Discipline in using internal and external data in decision making to ensure effective delivery of products and people proposition.
  • Passion for delivering planful culture change in new and innovative ways, with good connections to external networks and best practice.
  • Technical HR and people experience in the areas that matter, such as OD, partnering, people planning and change, engagement and colleague experience. You will manage people risks in an appropriate way to mitigate and protect the business.
  • Proof of delivery. You have a proven track record of delivering large scale change and the resilience required to do so.
