Job Description

As part of the Procurement Transformation Programme Biffa is realigning its procurement operations to reflect best corporate practice and improve service delivery. The objective of this role is to support the Category Manager in strategic procurement projects whilst having responsibility end to end for tactical projects within your area of specialty. Ensuring that the function is professionally represented both internally and externally and striving to deliver a best-in-class service.

- Work collaboratively with stakeholders both within the department and the business as a whole to determine the needs of the business and develop strategies to deliver these.
- Meet with suppliers and other external stakeholders to ensure the most appropriate deal is agreed for the business
- Develop a detailed understanding of specific key spend areas and subsequently tender, negotiate and award contracts
- Produce regular reports on key activities including updates on project progress, savings delivered and value-add opportunities identified for the Category Manager
- Support the preparation of forecast reports on future market trends in commodities, currency and other key business factors to allow for improved business performance against budget
- Represent Group Procurement within Biffa and within the wider business community

Our essential requirements
- Studying towards CIPS
- Relevant transferable procurement experience
- Focused on cost out and procurement
- Confident with all Microsoft Applications including Excel and PowerPoint
- Engaging with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
