Job Description

Location - Milton Keynes (minimum of two days a week in the office. You can do more than two days if preferable)

Reporting to - Procurement and Contracts Manager

Working hours - Full time

Band - 2.3

Salary - 32,805

Contract type/duration - Fixed Term Contract - Maternity cover for 12 months

The Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Procurement Assistant on a fixed term contract as maternity cover. The primary objective of the Procurement Assistant role is to provide vital support to our Procurement team by efficiently coordinating the purchasing and delivery of goods required by our organisation. This involves ensuring cost-effectiveness, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

The primary objectives of the Procurement and Contracts Assistant will be to support the Legal amp; Procurement team in relation to the following:

  • To assist in the end to end management of the procurement process, ensuring that this process is adhered to throughout the organisation. In addition, take ownership of specific tasks within the process
  • To prepare contract agreements based on standard CPC templates.
  • To liaise with internal customers and suppliers on a daily basis
  • To be responsible for document recording and management in order to deliver audit standard traceability and comply with document retention legislation
  • To provide training on the Dynamics procurement system to relevant users within the organisation
  • To gain proficiency and expertise on the eprocurement tool, including inputting and monitoring data
  • Lead on reporting and documentation for the contractor process
  • Responsible for setting up suppliers and associated due diligence checks
  • Support on tender processes and manage the clarification and evaluation process
  • Liaise with Finance Team to manage the procurement process and identify efficiencies and improvements
  • Work with the Contracts amp; Procurement Manager to ensure tender and contract templates are up to date
  • Ensuring an ethos of equity, inclusivity and diversity underpin your work activity, contributing to inclusive innovation across all Catapult activities 
  • You may be required to undertake any other reasonable duties to support the Catapult in achieving its strategic outcomes and ensure effective business operations 

Requirements

Essential:

  • Be able to work autonomously
  • Inbox management
  • Experience with an E-procurement system
  • You must be well organised
  • Have high levels of accuracyand numuracy
  • Experience reviewing contracts
  • Good organisational and time keeping
  • Competent knowledge of IT packages

Desirable:

  • Experience of Dynamics
  • Experience using Proactis or similar
  • Experience working in public sector
