Salary Scale: 90,000- 100,000 per annum

The role
As part of the Core Services leadership team reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Legal role is a senior leadership post, the outcomes of which are strategically important in ensuring legal compliance, limiting risk exposure and provide direction to the procurement team.
As a senior leader within RDG, this role is expected to consistently provide leadership of reliable and efficient common services to the business, in the most optimised and cost-effective manner, setting quality and professional standards and managing delivery within their area of specialism.
The role will be accountable for:
· Overseeing the operation and deliverables of the legal department.
· The procurement process across RDG in collaboration with the Head of Procurement and their team.
· Company Secretary duties across all RDG legal entities.
What they will do
Accountable for, and provide oversight to, the following areas:
· Serve as key lawyer/legal advisor on all major business transactions, providing legal guidance to the Executive and senior management teams on a wide range of legal matters such as contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
· Further streamline the RDG procurement process by working with and supporting the Head of Procurement and their team.
· Overseeing the operation of the legal and procurement teams within the organisation and accountability for the Company Secretary function.
Requirements
In order to fulfil this role:
Candidates for this role will have:
· In-depth legal expertise with an understanding of legal principles and practices, alongside specific knowledge in the realm of contract law, intellectual property and litigation.
· The postholder will require strong interpersonal skills in order that they can motivate, negotiate, influence and build strong relationships with all levels of staff within the organisation.
· A strong educational background, including a bachelor’s degree in law or a related field acquired from an accredited institution. Additionally, a master’s degree in law or business administration would be desirable.
