Joining the business and lending legal team responsible for lending, treasury, portfolio purchases/management and business banking, you will be joining a growing sub-team of four lawyers and one paralegal.

You will support matters related to areas we support with specific emphasis on treasury matters, portfolio purchases and asset management. You must be eager to learn, highly organised, quick on your feet and thrive in a high paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of matters, including but not limited to:

  • advising on legal and regulatory matters related to any of the areas supported by the team;
  • reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts such as ISDAs, GMRAs, Terms of Business, NDAs and a variety of other banking agreements;
  • supporting the launch of new banking products and drafting the relevant terms and conditions for such new products;
  • assisting in portfolio purchases transactions and advising on legal matters related to asset management;
  • horizon scanning and assisting the wider legal team and other business areas to assess the impact of new or proposed legislation and informing their implementation
  • managing multiple projects and supporting colleagues to ensure business and enterprise-wide initiatives are executed in a timely and accurate manner; and
  • instructing and working with outside counsel where necessary.

Requirements

  • Solicitor qualified in England and Wales or other common law jurisdiction.
  • 0 to 3 years’ post-qualification experience in UK financial services legal and regulatory work, gained in private practice or in-house.
  • Previous experience in negotiating ISDAs, GMRAs and other treasury contracts is a bonus
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Independent, proactive and highly organised.
