The role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join Plum in the London office. You’ll be expected to deeply understand how users think about money, get deep into the challenges they face when it comes to thinking about wealth and build features that align to Plum's strategy and vision, all the while grounded in solving crucial consumer challenges.

This role will take on experience for some of our existing investments and savings products as well as driving new 0-1 possibilities. As Senior Technical Product Manager, you will drive both execution and strategy of these ventures aligned towards helping our customers achieve their wealth goals with the least effort. It is imperative that you have prior experience working in the wealth and finance arenas.

In this role you will

  • Firsthand product manage one squad at Plum, understand key customer problems, ensure clarity around goals and objectives, and empower quick decision making to drive execution at scale
  • Be hands-on with technical discussions with engineers regarding approaches, requirements, and more related to core wealth operations such as trading, money movements, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customers needs and the competitive landscape to build products that solve real, crucial problems.
  • Work closely with your Group PM and other PMs to define and construct a long term product strategy for our saving and investing products.
  • Be metric obsessed and work in a test amp; learn manner to continually measure and optimize outcomes.
  • Go beyond building products and critically think about how best to land the products we build to create high resonance with our users.
  • Work closely and cross functionally with data, design, marketing and engineering teams to develop and execute on your product strategy.

Ideally you are someone who

  • Has proven experience building mobile consumer fintech product/s across UK and/or Europe and are excited by Plum’s mission, wealth building and personal finance in general.
  • Demonstrates understanding of full trade lifecycle: Order transmission, Post-Trade processing and settlement including reconciling trade details, confirming trade executions with counterparties, and managing trade lifecycle events such as corporate actions, and withholding tax.
  • Demonstrates understanding of brokerage considerations: Relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices governing trade confirmation, settlement and reconciliation to mitigate operational risk.
  • Is able to manage a team of engineers, speak their language and are able to communicate business needs in a constructive amp; timely way.
  • Is comfortable with data, can ground your thinking in analysis, can identify key metrics and their drivers and constantly drive actionable insights from numbers.
  • Can think critically and doesn’t settle for mediocrity, including possessing the resilience to challenge the status quo to make things better.
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity and a fast learner who is humble and curious, and enjoys developing yourself and those you work with.
  • Is excited to work in a startup already disrupting the financial industry!

Nice to have:

  • Experience dealing with API driven brokers would be a bonus, especially with respect to integrations.
  • Understanding of and experience managing tax implications .
