Job purpose

This role will be responsible for supporting the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) amp; Department leads with the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring we find, grow and retain the best people to continue JustPark’s success. The Head of People will ensure the correct routes are taken for employee-related issues across the entire business, including activities such as recruitment, training amp; development and employee relations.

This role will suit someone coming from either a small People team or stand alone HR role in a fast paced scale up business. It’s a very hands-on and exciting role, where you can really see the value and change that you deliver.

Requirements

General:

  • Proactively partner each SLT member to ensure their team is performing to expectations.
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Provide coaching, advice and guidance on all People related matters
  • Use data and trends to help formulate and deliver the People strategy
  • Formulate HR policies and keep the Employee Handbook up to date
  • Identify training needs for teams and individuals, and execute both internal amp; external solutions.
  • Ensure the benefits package is regularly reviewed and competitive.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the HRIS system (BOB), and personnel files.
  • Provide guidance and all information for the annual benchmarking process.

Recruitment:

  • Be responsible for overseeing the end to end recruitment process.
  • Work with hiring managers to design job descriptions that are detailed, clearly prioritised and attractive to potential candidates.
  • Review attraction sources to ensure we deliver strong pipelines of talent who are engaged with the JustPark mission.
  • Ensure recruitment processes are swift and engaging and that all candidates that interview receive fair and valid feedback.
  • Work with the People amp; Talent Coordinator to conduct candidate screening sessions and manage the candidate pipeline, training hiring managers where applicable - candidate experience is key.
  • Ensure each successful candidate receives a great onboarding to JustPark working towards lower team turnover
  • Complete all right to work checks amp; references for ALL new candidates.
  • Monitor and ensure our employer branding is as strong as it can be. This includes Glassdoor, Workable, our careers page and LinkedIn.
  • Keep an up to date PSL, but work to minimise the use of agency expenditure where possible.

  • Work closely with all employees to improve build and maintain an excellent culture that will increase retention
  • Be a JustPark ambassador, living and breathing our company values.
  • Maintain amp; build upon JustPark’s culture through such tasks as event planning, and culture projects.
  • Lead the social committee to plan events that foster team building and good social connections, to budget.
  • Oversee the general office management Hamp;S contractors (Kitt), Cleaners (Zing) amp; our chef, Julie.
  • Ad hoc tasks as required

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • CIPD qualification is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience managing a company integration from an HR standpoint
  • Experience working in a stand alone HR role
  • Experience working at a fast paced scale up style business
  • High levels of professional integrity
  • Proven work experience as a People Leader
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law
  • Experience in coaching and development of a team
  • Great direct recruitment experience
  • A diverse mindset; you can demonstrate ways that you have effectively helped to diversify a candidate pipeline and workforce.
  • Experience training hiring managers and helping to engage wider teams on recruitment.
  • The ability to get on with the job at hand independently, but you know when collaboration is required.
  • Make decisions quickly and question the status quo
  • High levels of emotional intelligence
