Assistant Management Accountant

Reporting to the Management Accounts Manager you will be required to assist in the preparation of reconciliations and management accounts in a timely and accurate manner. The successful candidate must be prepared to take ownership or escalate queries, delivering high quality and consistent service both internally and externally, within an acceptable timescale. Through their work they will provide the highest possible level of commitment and service consistent with the quality procedures for this position. Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, those shown below. Not all tasks may be required for all staff in the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete balance sheet reconciliations promptly, ensuring that all queries are resolved in a timely manner
• Assist with annual physical check of fixed assets
• Assist in the accurate and timely production of management accounts
• Accurately process bank transactions
• Process staff personal expenses
• Prepare PAYE Settlement Agreement
• National Statistics reporting
• Liaise with departmental heads and other areas of the business as necessary
• Ensure all tasks are carried out per the accounting policy and procedures, reporting any deviance to your manager
• Ad hoc financial analysis and presentations as requested, on time and accurately
• Ongoing review to seek improvements to processes

Requirements

Essential

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Minimum 12 month’s experience within a similar role
• High accuracy
• Good communication skills
• Adherence to KPI’s and SLA’s
• Ongoing review to identify business and process improvement

Desirable

• Knowledge of SAP
• Vehicle leasing or financial services experience
