Job Title: Assistant Team Leader

Salary: Competitive plus shift premium

Shifts: Continental - 40.25 hours

Location: Milton Keynes

What we’re looking for...

This is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team based in Milton Keynes as Assistant Team Leader. This key role will support the Team Leader in managing, leading and motivating the teams during the period of the shift, ensuring that site requirements of production volumes to the required quality standards are met, in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

The Assistant Team Leader is part of a team of Technical Operators operating on a shift basis, reporting to the Manufacturing Team Leaders in the day to day production and deputising of certain duties in the absence of a Manufacturing Team Leader. We are looking for candidates who will be able to offer a degree of flexibility on the shift pattern, such as 3 on/ 3 off.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Ensuring that safety first is our priority.
  • Leading, motivating and developing their team, to ensure planned output requirements and quality standards are met whilst ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Support with absence return to work interviews and holiday planning (inc updating holiday tracker and crewing sheets)
  • Achieve shift KPI targets for line efficiencies, material usage variances.
  • Support and cover line staff shortages as and when required.
  • Develop team working across the factory applying continuous improvement principles.
  • Accurately complete all required shift documentation for compliance against BRC, ISO and site specific quality standards.
  • Ensure regular communication and briefings to provide the team with the relevant information to carry out their shift to maximum effect.
  • Contribute to the planning, organisation, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory.
  • Carry out site inspections and audits upon request.


What you’ll bring

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven track record in a production capacity within an FMCG environment preferably with the relevant filling and packaging line experience.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to work on your own initiative.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Computer literate to intermediate level
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BRC, HACCP).
