Job Description

Role Overview

The Supervisor contributes to the stores success by supporting the leadership, engagement and management of the team to create and maintain the world class experience for our customers. The Supervisor assists the Manager in overseeing the overall operation of the store ensuring customer satisfaction, actively assisting to manage the stores financial performance and maximising store profitability, and helping to manage safety and security within the store.

The Supervisor is expected to be a hands on part of the team and will regularly be required to support the needs of the team during busy periods e.g. serving on the till, accepting and putting out deliveries and replenishing stock.

The Supervisor will have full responsibility of any office duties for two full days per week, along with covering for the Managers holidays and sickness. Any other hours will be store hours, where you will fulfil duties such as the above.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Taking over the full managerial responsibilities in the managers absence (including out of hours calls, cover, replying to emails)
  • Liaise with Manager and wider team on a regular basis to ensure the smooth running of the business
  • Complete training plan as required.
  • Assists with the training and holding all team members accountable for delivering exceptional standards and customer service.
  • Manage with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture values and mission of the company.
  • Assists with providing coaching and direction to the store team to take action and to achieve operational goals.
  • Promote a culture of motivated working, maximum sales and promotions.
  • Support the Management team in the coordination of staff appraisals and reviews
  • Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health amp; safety are met
  • Communicate changes of promotions
  • Help the Manager monitor and coordinate all aspects of operational people needs; rotas/hours, staff meetings and huddles, cover and holiday management (including personal cover for staff and wider supervisor tea
  • Plan, identify, communicate and delegate appropriate responsibilities and practices to the store team.
  • Cleaning and housekeeping in store, within the store, on the till area, in the back store and in staff amp; customer toilets, and ensuring the store looks world class at all times.
  • Assisting stock control and management within the store, including; accepting and checking new deliveries, re-stocking, rotating stock, date checking, stock checking, ensuring the store is stocked to its full sales potential at all times.
  • Be aware of security within the store; being on the look-out for shoplifters, scams, and the use of fraudulent money and bank cards etc.

Requirements

Desirable

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Have valid BIIAB training (or equivalent) and a Personal Licence
