The Municipal Business Analystis a specialist using bespoke software, IT systems and operational data to review current operational models, amend or develop new solutions to deliver optimal operating solutions. Responsible for requirements gathering and analysis of data and reporting.
The Biffa division you’ll be supporting
Biffa’s household waste division delivers a range of cost-efficient, quality-led waste management services for 31 local authorities across the UK. With over 3,300 staff and around 1,562 specialist vehicles, our domestic waste management division makes 4.3 million collections each week from over 2.3 million households across Britain.

- Gather and elicit requirements from wide range of stakeholders.
- Responsible for requirements design and building operational solutions.
- Partner with Business departments for idea generation and current state analysis.
- Model resource models for requirements representation, context, and better understanding
- Perform analysis of solution options and present them to stakeholders.
- Provide advice and guidance to the business on best solutions and adoptions of systems and processes.
- Perform Project Management activities on smaller projects.
- Liaise and work with other project professional as required such as supporting the testing of upgrades to current systems and any trials being conducted.
Requirements
Here’s what we require:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in project management
- Experience of modelling large scale operational solutions using bespoke software packages
- Requirement to summarize large amounts of data into report form.
- Report writing supporting data table summaries in writes report format.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
