Group Technical Manager

Location: Any UK Site

Your dream role:

The Group Technical Manager will provide support to our major customers. You will act as a gate keeper between the Field Service team and Quality RQI team, facilitating and vetting RQI inputs into the Quality function. You will manage the information flow and will liaise with the relevant departments within AD to provide accurate technical information to enable prompt investigation and resolution of customer concerns.

Main responsibilities:

  • To identify and report reliability, performance and maintenance issues that affect customer perception of the ADL product.
  • Arranging and supporting supplier meetings on technical issues
  • Participating in regular meetings between all departments that are involved in problem resolution on body and chassis product in order to monitor and improve resolution times.
  • Administer new campaigns and updates.
  • Compile and submit campaign requests for field service actions.
  • Monitor, control, and report campaign status within allocated timescales.
  • Liaise with service operations dept to plan and allocate resource on campaign actions.
  • Supporting RSM’s at customer meetings, where appropriate
  • Supporting RSM’s in field investigations and trials.

What you will bring:

  • Background in vehicle engineering (HGV or PSV)
  • Excellent technical knowledge of bus industry
  • Qualifications to HNC or equivalent
  • Communicative skills in both written, oral and PC
  • Experience of vehicle maintenance procedures and customer operations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of vehicle maintenance procedures and customer operations.
  • Ability to prioritize critical issues.
  • Effective time management
  • Trustworthy and credible in face-to-face customer meetings
  • Confident when presenting to internal and external bodies.
