Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Specification Sales Manager to join a well-established, SME specialising in high end bathrooms and sanitaryware who are based in Warrington. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets through the promotion of our client's brand and ensuring their product is the preferred choice on specification documents throughout a range of residential contracts. You will develop and maintain relationships with House Builders, Developers, Architects, Designers and Contractors. You will also work with the Contracts manager to ensure that all Specification contracts are fulfilled on time in full, on budget and to the highest quality and service standards possible.

This is a field sales role and will involve travel to customers at least 3 days a week, with the ideal candidate living between Birmingham and Manchester.

Key duties and responsibilities.

  • Work with the Contracts Manager, Sales Director and Commercial Director to put together plans and estimates, including budgets and timescales, for inclusion in tender submissions.
  • Detailed project planning and execution, including contributing to work planning, and briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers as required.
  • Attend and report at both pre-contract meetings and project progress meetings with Architects, Clients and Contractors.
  • Ensuring the correct commercial engagement with subcontractors.
  • Maintain CRM system in a timely and accurate manner to log progress on tender bids and project fulfilment.
  • With the Contracts Manager, liaise with other professionals, such as construction managers, quantity surveyors and project managers to ensure that projects are delivered without delays.
  • Identifying the key decision makers and stakeholders for each project.
  • Supplying information to resolve any disputes.
  • Ensuring that the Contract Sales Plan is delivered in a cost-effective manner.
  • Compile a monthly Contract activity report for submission to the Sales Director and Contract Sales Team
  • Develop and maintain collaborative and transparent relationships with all functions.
  • To agree key objectives and associated targets with any direct reports in order to measure individual performance and by issue of policies, procedures, continuous audit and institution of appropriate training ensure that these targets are achieved in line with the company’s annual business plan.
  • Staying informed about key developments in the Market
  • Representing the company externally by attending networking events, conferences and exhibitions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Specification Sales manager within the Bathroom sector (minimum 5 years experience)
  • Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed targets
  • Good understanding of selling within a merchant network
  • Previous experience of selling into Architects, housing developers and Mamp;E contractors
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Commercially orientated with good understanding of profit margins
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strategic sales relationships
  • Computer literate with experience in CRM systems
