Finance Assistant

Opportunity

OQC are at an exciting stage in their growth and currently require a finance assistant to support the company as we mature.

As a finance assistant, you’ll be part of a team that are key to how OQC grows strategically over the next few years. This is an opportunity for someone who is used to working as part of a small team, but has a passion for helping companies grow. Experience in a finance assistant or purchase ledger role in a tech based company would be ideal, but OQC are a company that looks at the bigger picture and company values and team players are just as important as technical skills.

Role

You’ll be working as part of a growing finance team and take responsibility for the day to day running of the financial tasks required up to management account level with the support of the Finance Manager and Head of Finance. This is a varied and hands-on-role and you will be an integral part of the team to ensure timely execution of all required management reports and analysis.

• Manage the accounts inbox, responding to a variety of finance queries
• Work with the procurement team and ensure all purchase invoices are uploaded to the finance package in a timely manner
• Create supplier payment runs, ensure authorisation and upload to bank
• Provide support to the procurement team in the creation and management of all purchase order requirements
• Assist in the completion of the quarterly VAT returns
• Collate employee expenses and gain management approval prior to payment
• Assist the finance team in creating financial reports on a regular basis
• Adhere to the company financial policies and procedures
• Use your creativity to suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions

Skills amp; Experience

• Xero/Netsuite/Sage or relevant finance system experience
• AAT qualification or studying towards would be advantageous
• Excellent knowledge of MSOffice and GSuite tools
• Experience of processing journal entries
• Superb attention to detail
• Must work well within a team but also have the ability to organise your workload and work autonomously as you will be working a blended office/home based pattern
