Engineer Test amp; Development Department

Location: Farnborough

The Role:

  • We’ve an exciting opportunity for a highly technically minded, proactive, and competent Test Engineer to join the team based in our brand-new, purpose-built facility in Farnborough.
  • We are looking for a Mechanical/Electrical Test Engineers with experience in the automotive industry.
  • Please note, this is Mechanical and Electrical Testing role, there will be NO requirement for software writing or development.
  • Responsible for test programmes across our new range of new technology vehicles that operate around the world.
  • Based at our new Farnborough Test amp; Development Facility, where you will conduct test work.
  • There will also be opportunities for testing at facilities in the UK and potentially travel to other AD plants and test facilities around the world.

What you will bring:

  • Educated up to Degree level in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
  • Ideally experience of bus and or commercial vehicle systems; in particular: Drive line systems (Diesel amp; EV), air systems, structural testing and supplier sign off testing.
  • A working knowledge on CAN based systems for both vehicle and data acquisition.
  • Driving license (PSV license would be a benefit).
  • We are looking for individuals that are:
    • Experienced in dynamic and static test management, rig testing, and instrumentation.
    • Experienced in project planning and the execution of internal and external tasks.
    • Proactive, showing initiative and ownership of the projects under your management.
    • Seeking solutions to technical issues by using internal and external resources, pulling these resources together and managing the solutions.
    • Able to work with teams across various ADL sites in supporting the whole business.
    • Able to manage a situation and give clear route and guidance, create concise documentation that defines the issues and shows a clear path and actions to achieve resolutions.
