Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting young adults with autism and learning disabilities? Do you want to work in an organisation rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC?

We are currently recruiting for full-time staff to work on established home and community-based programmes in Barnet. You will work as part of a team supporting service users with primary diagnoses of autism and learning disabilities in Barnet with a focus on life skills and community participation. Full time positions only, we accept experienced graduates, professionals from other disciplines interested in supporting teenagers and young adults in their home and local community, and candidates who have previously worked in ABA or PBS settings. Beam ABA Services support individuals with autism and learning disabilities. Support in Barnet is provided between Monday and Friday from 9.30AM-4.30PM.

We offer globally-recognised, industry-accredited training and support to give you the confidence and skills necessary to help make a significant positive difference to the lives of young people. You will be fully supervised and should be available to work some evenings and weekends. We require all Beam staff to adhere to our Code of Conduct.

Requirements

Duties

  • To assist in the implementation of person centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice
  • To support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment.
  • To monitor and take accurate data daily as per service users' targets
  • To support individuals during times of crisis - e.g., challenging behaviour.
  • To ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible
  • To assist service user with self-help skills including personal care and hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, nappy changing, feeding, bathing, nail cutting, and medication)
  • To model best practice and professionalism at all times
  • To attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self-directed e-learning modules
  • To promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standard
  • To implement restrictive techniques per service users positive handling plan as required
  • Flexibility to support service user during evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as required by your manager

Required qualifications and skills

  • 6 months of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism

Preferred qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field
  • 1+ year of applied experience working with special needs population
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience utilising ABA methodology
  • Clean driving license

Benefits

Full-time positions are available, paid at an hourly rate of 12.15-14 depending on qualifications and experience, Immediate salary for full-time staff from 22,113- 25,480 based on 35 hour working week - overtime hours available. Full training provided.

30 days' paid holiday per year plus full training and discretionary contribution toward professional accreditation. Salary available immediately for eligible candidates. Employee Assistance Programme provided to all staff. All staff receive an IPhone for work purposes.
