Group Head of Mobile Plant

A quick look at the role
Responsible for overseeing the strategic management of mobile plant across the Biffa group you will enable the transformation of procurement, maintenance and optimisation of mobile plant.
You will ensure that each site has the equipment required to get the job done whilst ensuring we maximise the full benefit of our scale to enable maximum value is achieved. You will track plant use, maintenance and damage is monitored and managed to ensure we are achieving the best performance possible from these assets. Working in collaboration with site teams, health and safety, procurement and suppliers, you will be the hub for all things mobile plant.

Whilst a background within the waste industry is a benefit, we really welcome applications from people currently working outside of the industry in areas such as engineering, the armed forces, manufacturing, and other similar heavy industry.
Your core responsibilities
- Strategic leadership of the group wide strategy for the provision of mobile plant (including tyres).
- Service delivery to sites to ensure they have safe amp; suitable equipment to always meet their requirements.
- Stakeholder management of internal and external organisations to ensure the best outcome for the business.
- Deliver optimised solutions for site needs to reduce costs and increase plant availability.
Requirements
Here's what we require
- Highly skilled leader and manager coaching / leadership / developing others / effectively managing performance of others.
- Previous experience involving heavy plant / mobile plant.
- Experience of managing health and safety within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- An engineering / asset management qualification
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Finance skills to support the procurement and ongoing management of mobile plant cost.
