Content Writer - Camp;L Specialism EYFS

Location: Remote (must be based in the UK) Annual Salary: 9,196 (23,000 FTE)

You’ll be joining a passionate team working to create Twinkl’s online EYFS resources for early years practitioners across the UK. The majority of your time will be spent working with other content writers and editors, engaging with product priorities to facilitate the highest possible quality of teacher content for our customers.

Your weekly activities could include:

  • creating new resources to support delivery of the EYFS framework
  • providing a specialist insight into the development of early years communication and language materials.
  • responding to editorial feedback and working alongside colleagues to elevate a resource to an excellent standard
  • sharing EYFS knowledge with the team about how to write a variety of resources which engage learners and appeal to practitioners. This could include adult-facing resources such as planning and assessment resources and child-facing activities.
  • producing resources which respond to customer needs and current approaches to early years education
  • meeting with other members of the team to discuss and develop new ideas
  • attending team meetings, ideation sessions and review sessions

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their early years expertise with others in their team. This position is remote and the hours can be worked flexibly with the expectation that you will have good daytime availability for training, meetings, collaboration and ongoing CPD, particularly in your training period/first month. You would need to be available around our core hours (10am-2pm) Mon-Fri, on a minimum of two days per week.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • have completed primary qualified teacher status: PGCE, B.Ed, EYTS or equivalent;
  • have two years of full classroom/early years setting teaching experience (after QTS is complete) in England;
  • be a confident practitioner using the EYFS Framework to plan, assess and deliver to whole classes or cohorts;
  • have a comprehensive understanding of the development of communication and language skills in young children
  • be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
  • be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and G Suite;
  • understand the early years community in England, knowing their unique pressures and current educational trends;
  • have a drive for continuous professional development.

In this role, you will learn:

  • how to ideate and create diverse, inclusive, engaging and varied resources for children and early years practitioners;
  • how to work in ‘agile’ teams, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines;
  • how to collaborate with educational professionals based across the UK through our company focus groups and customer feedback requests;
  • how to apply your teaching experience to create new products, from ideation stage to publication;
  • how to use project tracking software as well as other in-house systems.

  • Liz Wragg and Susie Seaton (Product Owners)
  • your own direct Line Manager who will be confirmed if you are successful.
  • our team of qualified teachers who currently write, edit and produce content for the Classic EYFS and Foundation team
  • Our amazing in-house design and illustration teams, collaborating daily to produce the beautiful, polished resources that Twinkl are known for

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • has detailed knowledge of the content of the 2021 EYFS Framework and has experience of planning and delivering activities for children within their setting
  • access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.
  • is organised, able to work to deadlines, and manages time effectively
  • is good fun to be with and has the ability to communicate well with others
  • You will be responsible for supplying and maintaining your own IT equipment if working remotely
