We are looking to hire an AWS Platform Engineer to join our Core Engineering team, which emphasis a ‘DevSecOps’ skillset and has the following deliverables:

• Platform Engineering solutions i.e. a self-service means for our application engineers to leverage cloud services through automation while meeting our standards and following our best practices at all times
• Secure SDLC CI/CD toolchain along with integrated quality and security gates
• CyberSecurity monitoring and controls

In practice the tools and technologies used on a daily basis include: AWS/CLI, Python amp; Boto3, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes.

The project portfolio for 2024 is varied. Key goals include:

• Pivot to product-aligned deployment pipelines
• Another successful ISO27001 audit; further secure our platform
• Automate security vulnerability management
• Establish a Platform Engineering culture; clarify responsibilities

Requirements

• AWS infrastructure familiarity covering a majority of:
  
• VPC / VPN
• Route 53
• IAM
• AWS Organisations
• S3 - Storage Tiers, Lifecycles
• CloudFront distribution packaging
• API Gateway
• ECS
• EC2
• AWS Lambda
  
• Infrastructure-as-Code projects using Terraform
• CI/CD pipeline configuration experience: GitHub Actions, Jenkins
• Container orchestration - K8S, ECS, Docker

• Relevant AWS Certifications
• SIEM solutions
• CyberSecurity awareness, certification
• Data Engineering (EMR, ETL)
• Coaching and/or mentoring of junior colleagues

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Willingness to experiment and then change course quickly depending upon the result
• Excellent team collaboration and communication skills
• Willingness to take ownership from design to delivery
