Do you want to join us as our new Transport Supervisor?

Working as part of the Technical Operations team, you will report directly to the Transport Manager.

The role will ensure EMS Group compliance with all relevant transport legislation and ensuring EMS Group and its staff adhere to all legal responsibilities.

Providing training in the safe operation and set up of our trailers,

This role will involve split duties.

  1. Transport Supervisor 2. Unit Manager

Our Unit Managers deploy trailers to various sites, and build / set up the trailer ready for the client. There will be overnight stays involved in the role. This will give you the knowledge and training to assist with fulfilling the Transport Supervisor role.

Principle Duties

FLEET MANAGEMENT 

Assist the Transport Manager with the following:

  • Schedule, record and report on fleet maintenance, ensure it is Hamp;S compliant at all times 
  • Administration duties including; raising purchase orders, creating files, updating compliance documents and driver licence records
  • Vehicle fault identification, resolution amp; reporting 
  • Vehicle preventive and long-term maintenance planning 
  • Vehicle asset management, replacement and hire plan 
  • Central purchasing for all vehicle spares and stock control 
  • Operator’s license compliance EU amp; international 
  • Manage Fuel Cards 
  • Act as Transport Manager to cover absences
  • Record driver’s hours amp; keep tachograph records 
  • Maintain the drivers daily defect records and resolve any issues 
  • Implement EMS operational driving policies 
  • Ensure vehicle movements are completed by competent persons

UNIT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITY

  • Internal and external vehicle movement
  • Liasing with the maintenance service provider
  • Deployment and derig of trailers on various projects
  • Client handovers of trailers and our bespoke ‘Outreach’ vehicles

Requirements

Experience

  • Experience of operating and managing diverse HGV vehicle fleets advantageous
  • Ability to manage amp; deliver multiple tasks to a high standard on time 
  • Proven organisational skills 
  • Highly organised 
  • Self-motivated amp; Disciplined 
  • Strong focus on quality in planning and in the finishing product 
  • Clear and confident communicator at all levels, both internally and client facing 

Skills.

  • Health and Safety qualifications level 3 (IOSH) (Advantageous)
  • Goods vehicle Certificate of Professional Competence (Advantageous)
  • HGV Class1 (Essential)
  • Forklift (Desirable)

Other Requirements.

  • Full UK residency and hold a valid driving license and have suitable transport provisions (public transport is not recommended due to location of offices)
  • Able to travel throughout the UK and Overseas if required.
