Job Description

Thanks for stopping by! We’re Doctor Care Anywhere: a leading digital platform, with a clear vision to be the primary care provider of choice for digital healthcare and that all starts with our brilliant team.

We are the UK’s largest private provider of telehealth services. We work with insurers, healthcare providers and corporate customers to provide healthcare services to more than 2 million patients every year. From doctors and designers to software developers and marketers we’re proud of our people, who love working together to enhance patient experiences for the better. It’s why every year, we help over 2 million people speak to a GP or ANP by video or phone, anywhere in the world.

Our story started back in 2013, and as we continue to grow, we’re looking for the very best talent to help us achieve our ambitious goals. If you’re highly motivated and would love to work with us as we continue to grow, then we would love to hear from you

Your new role: To support the delivery of the DCA compliance strategy by assuring compliance with relevant standards and helping to minimise uncertainty in achieving business objectives caused by risks and incidents. The role will be responsible for DCA’s adherence to, and compliance with, NHS Digital’s DCB0129 and DCB0160 standards, ensuring that the clinical platform supports high quality, safe and effective digital care. The role will also be responsible for any relevant activities related to DCA’s adherence to MHRA regulation related to class 1 medical devices (software).

The successful candidate will work with the Product Team, providing input on new features and pathways, and the redevelopment of existing features, to ensure that clinical safety is considered at each stage. They will be responsible for maintaining DCA’s compliance documentation for the platform and for drafting reports. They will liaise with the Chief Digital Innovation Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Senior Product Manager, where required, to ensure that clinical safety is integral to strategy for the platform.

DCA will consider applicants’ relevant experience, and finalise the specification of the role, to suit the successful applicant. The fundamental aim is to support the principle of clinical safety by design, requiring an understanding of healthcare systems and clinical risk management, experience of the application of health technology, and strong analytical skills. Depending on the candidate, DCA would consider either:

1) A clinician, who could operate as the company’s Clinical Safety Officer or

2) A non-clinician, who would operate as the Product Safety Officer, and liaise with a nominated Clinical Safety Officer (internal or external), who would review and authorise their documentation.

Salary: 55,000 pa - Hybrid with occasional attendance (once a month) required at London office.

The deadline for applications for this role is Wednesday, 20th March at 6pm with interview taking place Wc 1st April

Requirements

  • Undertaking clinical risk management activities throughout the software development life cycle, to ensure compliance with DCB0129, DCB0160 and UK MDR 2002.
  • Maintaining the documented Clinical Risk Management System for the Health IT System development, and undertaking the activities outlined in it
  • Running hazard identification workshops, collaborating with the Product Team to agree required risk mitigation, and translating outputs into hazard logs
  • Participating in user acceptance testing
  • Writing clinical safety case reports to coincide with significant releases, enabling sign-off by leadership
  • Gathering and validating evidence in the clinical risk management file to ensure it is complete and supports the clinical safety case report
  • Liaising with deploying teams to ensure deployment requirements are being addressed
  • Participation in the management of incidents, including risk evaluation, and the identification of product refinements required

Experience
