Your new role: To support the delivery of the DCA compliance strategy by assuring compliance with relevant standards and helping to minimise uncertainty in achieving business objectives caused by risks and incidents. The role will be responsible for DCA’s adherence to, and compliance with, NHS Digital’s DCB0129 and DCB0160 standards, ensuring that the clinical platform supports high quality, safe and effective digital care. The role will also be responsible for any relevant activities related to DCA’s adherence to MHRA regulation related to class 1 medical devices (software).
The successful candidate will work with the Product Team, providing input on new features and pathways, and the redevelopment of existing features, to ensure that clinical safety is considered at each stage. They will be responsible for maintaining DCA’s compliance documentation for the platform and for drafting reports. They will liaise with the Chief Digital Innovation Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Senior Product Manager, where required, to ensure that clinical safety is integral to strategy for the platform.
DCA will consider applicants’ relevant experience, and finalise the specification of the role, to suit the successful applicant. The fundamental aim is to support the principle of clinical safety by design, requiring an understanding of healthcare systems and clinical risk management, experience of the application of health technology, and strong analytical skills. Depending on the candidate, DCA would consider either:
1) A clinician, who could operate as the company’s Clinical Safety Officer or
2) A non-clinician, who would operate as the Product Safety Officer, and liaise with a nominated Clinical Safety Officer (internal or external), who would review and authorise their documentation.
Salary: 55,000 pa - Hybrid with occasional attendance (once a month) required at London office.

The Clinical Safety Officer role requires clinical qualification and registration with a relevant professional body (eg GMC, GPhC, NMC). The alternative Product Safety Officer role would not.
