The opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual looking to progress their career, to join our growing Real Estate team. The role can be based in our Bath or Birmingham office The role may require occasional travel to any of our other locations or off site as client demands require. This post involves work across the whole spectrum of commercial property but with a particular emphasis on general commercial property, Charity property work. The scope of the work is very broad and ranges from leases (landlord and tenant), site acquisitions and disposals, property finance (lender) through to corporate occupier work. The department also deals with education and charity property work and the candidate would be expected to assist with those aspects where necessary.

Responsibilities
- Effectively manage an individual caseload (with supervision where appropriate).
- Attend to clients of the Firm in the office or elsewhere if needed.
- Work in a collegiate and collaborative way within an immediate Team and wider Firm environment.
- Communicate promptly and effectively both internally to colleagues and externally to clients.
- Maintain your continuing professional development requirements and take an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law.
- To carry out your work for both colleagues and clients to the highest possible standard, having regard to the Firm’s standards, procedures and core values.
- To regularly attend, and be involved in preparation for, Team meetings.
- To attend and be involved in preparation for marketing and business development events and activities.
Requirements
Essential:
- The successful candidate should have relevant experience within Property and must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision on more simple transactions clear guidance is available from more senior members within the Commercial Property Team.
- A knowledge of conveyancing processes and previous experience in a conveyancing or a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to hit the ground running.
- IT literate including Office 2010
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with case management systems is desirable, but further training will be provided.
Reporting
The post-holder will report to the Head of the Commercial Property team.
