Job Description

Job Title: Senior Product Manager

Reports to: Head of Product

Direct Reports: None

Working in partnership with the NHS, we are already the UK’s largest digital mental health platform for young people aged 10-25. We use the collective insight from nearly one million hours of professional support we have provided to guide people to self-help, community-support, and professional help that matches their wants, needs, and goals in life. Now, we are rapidly expanding into supporting the NHS adult population and corporate sector - providing corporate solutions to help build mentally healthy businesses, and expanding internationally.

Role Objective

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our growing team to help us build the future of personalised digital mental health care. By blending user needs and data-driven improvements, you will work to align customer needs with business objectives.

Main responsibilities:

The Senior Product Manager will join rapidly expanding design, content, clinical and data teams to deliver a mental wellness app and web platform for youth in the US and UK that incorporates genuinely engaging, innovative self-guided content, community features, on-platform therapeutic support and off-platform referrals. They will be responsible for 2 key areas - delivering a web version of an existing app product, and expanding the current product suite to other geographies. This is a truly exciting project where we will strive to challenge the status quo of mental health apps and create something that will speak to young people and give them what they truly need. Consistent, effective engagement that achieves genuine symptomatic benefit is our aim. The person who fills this role will have the opportunity to work with household-name industry partners who are the top companies in the world in technology, data and design. It is important that the Senior Product Manager balances entertainment with clinical efficacy and safety, and is able to see how data science might elevate the product in an ethical way. They must be ambitious, creative, pragmatic and curious.

Product Delivery:

  • Lead product discovery work including competitor research, user research and design sprints, alongside our user research and design teams.
  • Prioritise the product feature backlog to formulate a quarterly roadmap for our product.
  • Define product requirements for each planned feature and work with technical leads to refine these in order to write work tickets with sound acceptance criteria.
  • Run sprints and communicate sprint/goal progress as well as blockers and risks to the rest of the team.
  • Manage and mentor product managers when hired in the near future.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often across different platforms and products.

Product Strategy:

  • Work closely with Product Leads and Senior Experience Design team to ensure the web platform design is coherent and aligned with the wider product strategy.
  • Ensure changes and direction of product stays aligned with clinical and service models of delivery.
  • Sift through and draw insights from qualitative and quantitative data sets, and use data to drive decision-making.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage uncertainty by navigating shifting priorities and focus, guide team and stakeholders through complex problem spaces, helping them to consider trade-offs to make a decision.
  • Communicate product decisions to the executive team, with the support of the Head of Product, and incorporate high-level business needs into the product model.
  • Liaise with customers and commercial stakeholders about their requirements and planned updates to the application.

Commercial:

  • Translate an inspiring and commercially viable clinical vision and strategy for our digital mental health platform in the US, guided by the Head of Product.
  • Support the Head of Product in forming collaborations with organisations or academic partners in order to populate the application with clinically effective content and functionality that appeals to all segments of the young user demographic.
  • Assess third-party tooling and software for applicability and usefulness in our app.

Cross-functional/Specialist workflows:

  • Support the delivery team in incorporating a translation workflow of content and therapeutic support into the app.
  • Show awareness of and consideration for clinical safety workflows within the app functionality, including audit of clinical sessions and risk escalation for users in need.
