Job Description

We are looking for an NHS Clinical Engagement Fellow to lead the consultation and co-design of a pivotal work programme with NHS stakeholders. The Feedback and Recontact programme plans to return health information to Our Future Health participants and enable studies involving recall by phenotype and genotype. This role involves orchestrating robust engagement initiatives, facilitating co-creation processes, and integrating stakeholder insights into the development of this programme. Despite big improvements in healthcare in our lifetimes, today millions of people in the UK still live in poor health as they get older. Diseases like cancer, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease affect the lives of many people in our communities. Our goal is to create a world-leading resource for health research, to improve our understanding and spot the patterns of how and why common diseases start, so treatments can begin sooner and be more effective.

Our Future Health will be the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent, and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.

  • Working closely with the existing regional engagement teams and their stakeholder relationships to engage those communities with our plans for future work.
  • Supporting the Executive team in the establishment and negotiation of Our Future Health’s integration points with the NHS e.g., the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, and the Genomic Medicine Service.
  • Acting as an SME in either Public Health or Clinical Genetics, both internally to advise and externally in building relationships with the health system.
  • Working with regional engagement teams to ensure that as we expand into the Devolved Administrations, we have engaged leaders in these health systems in consultation and co-design of our Feedback programme, taking into account the differences in those national health systems.
