ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Trainee Website Designer and Developer to join our Product Growth team. We’ll help you grow and develop to a level where you can work on creative and technical tasks as part of the team responsible for improving and optimising customer journeys and experience across the public website for ii.

In this entry-level role, you will assist in a broad range of cross-discipline projects, from creating high-performing landing pages for the acquisition journey in our Drupal CMS, to designing and coding innovative features to be built and tested as part of our conversion rate optimisation programme.

You will use a range of industry standard software and work with subject matter experts across the business to build your skills and knowledge of our business and processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Using Figma and the Adobe suite, create website/mobile app designs that align with our brand and business goals
  • Build webpages in our Drupal CMS using pre-existing elements to support the content and acquisition teams.
  • Develop new front-end solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for CRO testing in Optimizely
  • Conduct and rely on user research and insights to create intuitive and seamless user journeys
  • Learn to analyse and be informed by data from CRO experiments
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Growth, UX Research amp; Design, CRO and Product, to ensure cohesive design and optimal implementation of website enhancements
  • Support with communications to key stakeholders e.g., Presenting CRO experiment results to the wider business
  • Work towards developing your knowledge on key ii Infrastructure and platforms

Salary: 28,000

ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP:

As a Trainee Website Designer and Developer, you will develop the technical knowledge plus the professional skills and behaviours to work within our exciting and fast-paced Product Growth team, gaining valuable work experience plus achieving a qualification through a structured apprenticeship programme to kick-start your career.

Through the level 6 Creative Digital Design Professional apprenticeship, you will learn the skills required to manage the challenges of operating in a rapidly changing digital world. This training will be provided by Manchester Metropolitan University, who will deliver the apprenticeship. Within your development program, you will learn and grow technical knowledge in the following areas:

  • Creative processes: key perspectives, approaches and schools of thought and how to apply them
  • Digital design tools and methods, and understanding their strengths and weaknesses and application
  • User centred and accessible design, user research and UX
  • Responsive and mobile first design
  • Fundamentals of branding
  • Visualisation of data
  • 3D Data capture, processing and models for use in real world, e.g. Architecture, Construction, Games, Engineering
  • Contemporary immersive technologies, such as AR/VR/XR

By the end of the apprenticeship, you will achieve yourLevel 6 Creative Digital Design Professional apprenticeship as well as a BA (Hons) degree in Creative Digital Design Digital. Typically, the apprenticeship will take around 48 months to complete.
