Introduction to the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team and make a significant impact as a key leader in our Capacity and Capability department. Reporting directly to the Head of Capacity and Capability, you will be responsible for driving tangible business improvements in the Non-Biscuit Cluster of our manufacturing operation.

In this senior position, you will lead and manage a team of 7 direct reports within the Weetabix business improvement team. Your main focus will be on delivering exceptional results and ensuring effective leadership, governance, and ongoing development of our Business Excellence Standards, including our Management Operating System (MOS).

Your role will also involve managing the Operations Cost Saving Initiatives Programme (Value Optimization). This includes generating innovative ideas based on data insights and adopting manufacturing best practices to achieve significant cost savings.

The recipe for success:

  • Provide overall leadership to the Business Improvement team and drive the Business Excellence Program, serving as a role model and empowering the team to achieve both personal and business goals.
  • Lead the development, defence, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Management Operating System (MOS).
  • Lead the Cost Savings Management Process to consolidate and validate the pipeline of cost savings in Operations, implementing robust governance for Manufacturing (Value Optimization).
  • Capture, communicate, and report cost savings initiatives across Operations in a clear and concise manner, collaborating with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Technical teams to support non-manufacturing cost savings.
  • Identify and implement relevant business improvement tools and processes that align with our long-term manufacturing strategy.
  • Regularly review and enhance processes for continuous improvement, including problem-solving, data analysis, and selecting appropriate KPIs.
  • Foster an inclusive learning and problem-solving culture, encouraging the visibility of challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the governance of achieving our manufacturing strategy and ensure its continued deployment through the manufacturing MOS.
  • Facilitate step-change improvement projects for our manufacturing facilities, focusing on best practices such as centre-lining, baselining, and OEE improvements.
  • Take ownership of the Business Excellence Standard, driving its development, maintenance, and seamless integration into all aspects of our business.

  • Extensive experience of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement acting as a change agent to deliver results in a large manufacturing business.
