They create spaces that are both practical and beautiful. Their prestigious clients include premier league football clubs and famous music venues across the UK and Europe.

At Benchmark, they pride themselves on offering a complete service, featuring innovative and operationally efficient design, resourceful procurement, and a bespoke build operation.

The Oxfordshire Studio is located just 10 miles from the M4 (Jct 15), close to a lovely little village called Shrivenham.

Role Overview

As a vital member of the Interior Design team, you will support our Senior Designers on key projects from concept to completion and taking the lead designer role on appropriate projects. Collaborating with clients, project managers, suppliers, contractors, and fellow design team members is crucial to the success in this role.

Responsibilities

- Report to the Senior Designers and collaborate with the broader design team.

- Support interior design projects, ensuring seamless progression from concept development to project completion.

- Develop skills and confidence to lead own projects.

- Assist in creating innovative and practical design concepts tailored to the unique requirements of each project.

- Develop detailed interior design plans, including space layouts, furniture selection, bespoke joinery, lighting design, and material specifications alongside the guidance of the senior designers.

- Ensure that projects are executed within budget and on schedule, collaborating with the design and project management teams.

- Support the project management team with design administration, for example product ordering and supplier coordination.

- Conduct frequent site visits, attend meetings, and carry out surveys, initially alongside senior team members but to develop the skills and confidence to undertake independently.

Requirements

- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in interior design, focusing on commercial projects in the design and build sector.

- Experience with commercial interior design and familiarity with Autodesk products and essential Adobe Suite software.

- Exceptional communication and organisational skills.

- Working knowledge of commercial design regulations and industry standards.

- Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

- Share our passion for clients within the food and beverage hospitality sectors, ranging from stadia, education, and public sector clients. Client include Premier League Football Clubs, legendary venues, and universities.

-Drive to develop skills and push creative boundaries.

Skills and Qualifications

- Degree in Interior Design or a related discipline.

- AutoCAD user proficient in creating comprehensive drawing packages under instruction of senior designers.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.

- Strong communication skills for collaboration with the wider project team and clients.

- UK Driving Licence.

Additional Skills

- Proficiency in InDesign for document design and presentation.

- Familiarity with Sketch Up.

Stage 1

Telephone or video introduction with Recruiter to discuss application, interest in role, and suitability for the role.

Stage 2

Interview with hiring manager and HR via Teams. Interview questions can be issued in advance.

Stage 3

Interview with hiring manager and senior manager onsite.
