Job Description

Dutypoint produces, sells and distributes pump systems primarily to the construction sector for the provision of solutions such as hot and cold water, water pressure booster sets, waste water management systems and fire safety sprinkler systems.

We are an innovative and dynamic company with new products and improved versions of existing products being launched each year as well as ambitious growth plans for the future.

We are currently recruiting for a Product Manager for our New Product Development department, who sit at the forefront of innovation within the business.

This role would suit you if you have experience in Product Management or New Product Development within a company that supplies products or services with a technical bias. It would be equally suitable if you have previously worked in a role that involves a lot of communication with internal and external stakeholders, which has involved Ramp;D, design engineering, technical sales or consultancy sales.

This is an interesting role for someone who enjoys learning as you will be required to stay abreast of trends in the marketplace, new legislation, regulations and what our competition is doing.

A key part of the role is also working with the new product development team to manage new product ideas through the commercial stages of the product development process, which includes managing the new product idea pipeline, gathering market data amp; customer feedback and working closely with marketing to define the marketing strategy for new product launches.

The role also includes working with sales, marketing and support to set revenue and margin expectations and ensure customer satisfaction goals are met.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

· All aspects of product management including defining the product vision, managing it through the product lifecycle and working with engineering and operations to help integrate new products into the product portfolio.

· Market evaluation to support new NPD pipeline

· Setting pricing in line with market

· Setting financial performance goals

· Working closely with marketing and providing them with the necessary technical content

· Managing internal and external customer request for product design changes

· Ensuring documentation and web content is up to date

· Managing product data

· Managing applications for third party product certifications

· Evaluating and reporting on product performance by range

· Driving product improvement projects (such as cost reduction, performance / range enhancement, adaption to new regulations)

· Mentoring and supporting a junior product manager.


Hours of work: Monday Friday 8am 5pm (30 min lunch break). A degree of flexibility on working hours is possible for the right person.

Requirements

· A creative and problem solving mind

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Willingness to develop a deep technical understanding of the products and their applications

· Commercially astute

· Team player

· Ability to influence cross-functional teams

· Commercial and technical experience relating to cold water boosting systems, wastewater pumping systems or general mechanical and electrical equipment relating to the building services or water industry would be advantageous, but is not essential.
