Nissan Design Europe Operations Manager

Overview of Job Role

Nissan Design Europe (NDE) has a singular purpose in providing world class creative design output, this is supported by indirect functions and business processes which are vital to the efficient and safe overall delivery.

As NDE operations manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the NDE facility in all aspects. You will coordinate the Project management team/studio engineering team in the business related side to project work. The role will also involve Regional and global program management on specific production projects.

Main Responsibilities / Key Tasks Defined

Business Operations

Building Management – responsible for lease agreements, negotiations, renovations

Annual budgets – CAPEX, OPEX, GENEX

Work closely with Global Design business functions on all matters

Supplier nominations

DOA key person/ compliance key person

Oversee expense and travel policies/approvals

Project Management

Window person for internal/external issues, represent NDE within the Alliance when needed

Assess incoming requests for support from other functions and facilitate NDE response

Reach out proactively on global basis, but with particular focus on region

H&S

Lead H&S function, liaising with NTCE and NMUK H&S functions

Deliver an ongoing solution to meet changing needs of business and activity

Manage meetings – chair meetings and facilitate Managers into chair position on rotation

Facilitate external support around related topics, e.g. Reach, COSHH, Cleared4

Team Management

DPM [design project Management] function

Business office

Administration

Studio engineering

Downstream/Alliance projects/Commercial Vehicles

Working with HR function

Security/maintenance contractors
