Driven by Data and Insight, the Corporate Marketing team is a team of Media, PR, CSR, Data and Digital specialists that play a vital marketing role for SEUK – supporting our Divisions to deliver best in class campaigns to increase brand perception, product awareness and consideration, and sales.
It’s also up to us to bring our Brand Platform – Do What You Can’t – to life in the UK, by inspiring communities through CSR initiatives, Cross Category PR, Partnership activity and Brand Activations.
The Media Team in the UK are responsible for making this transformation a reality. They are responsible for developing and implementing our paid media approach to drive demand and consideration for both our brand and our products - improving our ability to understand consumers’ behaviour, delivering targeted paid media activity and measuring the impact on initiating behavioural and attitudinal change.
The team are also responsible for developing and executing all SEUK paid media to drive demand, across ATL (TV, Cinema, OLV, Press, Radio, OOH, Display, Paid Social etc), targeting audiences to increase brand affinity and product demand.
Role and Responsibilities
What are the main areas of responsibility for this role?
This role is critical to the development and delivery of all our ATL plans. It involves the direct leadership of a lean internal team, and the indirect leadership of 60+ people in our media agency, with the overarching responsibility for the deployment of our £100m+ media investment across each of our Divisions (IM, CE, Digital).
Media Strategy & Planning
Development and delivery of our media planning and investment strategy for each of our Divisions (IM, CE, Digital), that accelerates the quality, creativity and consistency of our core media and investment principles, aligned to SEUK commercial priorities.
Strategic development of, and innovation within, our media planning and industry relationships.
Development and deepening our relationships with key media owners locally within the UK, to ensure best in class delivery and execution, and innovation within new functionality and services offered.
Lead the internal media team, and media agency, to deliver best in class media plans to support divisional objectives and product launches.
Leadership and accountability for all ATL media investment, ensuring all budget is spent wisely, and accounted for appropriately.
Work closely with CMI and Data teams to develop effective KPI frameworks, measurement plans and test cases to improve the way we measure media effectiveness and efficiency.
Drive a learning culture within the Media team, to enable media planning and buying following evidence-based thinking.
Lead and champion the relationship with our combined media agency (Starcom, Digitas, Performics) to ensure our communications and media planning and buying disciplines are best in class.
Manage the commercial relationship with our media agency, to ensure we have the right agency structure in place to deliver the scope of activity effectively.
Liaise with third party agencies to regularly audit the quality of our agency’s media buying; suggesting and implementing recommendations to improve this effectiveness.
People Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Manage and guide a team of media professionals to deliver effective national media campaigns for all product launches and other communication campaigns across our Divisions.
Lead, inspire and develop this internal media team, growing their skills and motivating them to deliver the best results.
Be the lead media expert within SEUK; presenting to key stakeholders and senior management the plans and results of media investment, with concise and considered recommendations for future improvements and optimisation.
Develop excellent relations with, and understanding of, our operations with the Global (HQ) and regional European (EHQ) teams.

Media literacy; extensive paid media experience working both agency and client side, on large accounts with sizeable budgets.
Highly numerate; with an excellent understanding of leveraging data to drive marketing success.
Consumer-focused; be ahead of trends and changes in the media landscape.
Understanding of the consumer electronics / technology landscape.
Demonstrable expertise of media channels, tools & techniques and developing creative solutions.
Proven project management skills - capable of delivering project plans, managing digital schedules across parallel projects
Ability to effectively manage agencies and to work in large cross functional teams

This role requires someone with extensive media experience. We are looking for someone with a strong character, who is passionate about implementing change both internally and externally to drive the very best success for Samsung in the UK.
You will be able to clearly understand, implement and articulate media planning and investment strategy. You will have strategic clarity, be able to see the bigger picture for the business, and the role of media within it. You will be able to effectively work with our media agency and media owners to drive innovation and results for Samsung, and be an excellent communicator and influencer - able to communicate ‘in headlines’ to non-functional senior leaders who are busy elsewhere.
