Role: Production Manager - Print on Demand

Location: Altrincham, WA15 0PS.

Our Consumer Division is home to THG’s heritage sites and true home of the geek. Consumer includes Brands such as Zavvi, IWOOT, and Popinabox - some of Europe's largest online retailers for Licensed Merchandise, Collectables, and Gifting products.

A focus on in-house produced and exclusive products through our print on demand facility, has accelerated evolution of the sites away from traditional entertainment retailers towards growing Merchandise and Collectable markets an area we plan to continue our investment in. We are looking for a creative, innovative, and resourceful Production Manager to lead our Print Production team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensuring safety, quality, cost and delivery requirements are met
  • Strive to exceed targets in productivity, efficiency and quality on a continuous basis through collaborative working with the Production Management team
  • Communicate effectively with the teams by utilising visual management tools, deliver production briefs with focus on quality, cost and delivery
  • Provide outstanding leadership to team members, including opportunities for coaching and development, to maximise work output and work quality
  • Look to increase efficiencies and improve Quality Standards wherever possible
  • Ensure non-conformances are challenged and countermeasures are agreed and implemented through identification of root cause and effective preventative action
  • Lead and motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced
  • Take responsibility for process improvement and Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Monitor costs associated with print operations and review weekly with view to reducing costs where possible
  • Work effectively with support functions to progress issues regarding production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications
  • Work with other areas of the business to assist with long term resource planning
  • Work with Technical Engineering to ensure assets are well maintained and serviced in an efficient manner to result in as little disruption to operation as possible
  • Manage Relationships with external suppliers to ensure onsite support provided is optimal

Requirements


To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate that you have

  • Experience managing, motivating, coaching and developing high performing teams in print production manufacturing
  • A good understand of Lean Six Sigma principals and experience in implementing continuous improvement in a production environment
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good understanding of H amp; S and HR
  • Capable of analysing Data amp; results-oriented
  • Strong bias for making decision

For this role you will be working Monday - Friday Days most weeks but flexibility is required as you will also have direct reports on night shift that you will need to have contact time with.
