Job Description

Content Writer - Wales

Location: Remote

Annual Salary: 10.50 per hour

Contract: Permanent subject to passing probation

Recruiter: Hope Parkin

Hours: flexible number of hours available, a minimum of 15 hours per week (flexible working around team meetings)

In view of the new Curriculum for Wales coming into place from 2022, we are looking for creative and enthusiastic teachers to work closely with our existing team to support teachers across Wales during this time of change.

As a content writer, you will be involved in the translation and localisation of relevant Twinkl content from English into Welsh. As part of this role, you will also be creating new teaching materials in Welsh and English in line with the new curriculum. You will have fresh ideas and a good insight into what educators across Wales want and need to prepare for the new curriculum, and how to execute this.

This role will require you to work remotely. It is a flexible position and hours can be agreed between you and your line manager. However, you will need to be available for regular face to face meetings over webcam. You will need to provide your own device to work on and a reliable, high-speed internet connection.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Translating existing resources into Welsh
  • Innovating and creating new resources to support the Curriculum for Wales 2022
  • Communicating with the development team: Content Editors, Illustrators and Graphic Designers
  • Keeping up to date with Curriculum for Wales 2022 and the ongoing needs of the customer

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be a qualified primary school teacher
  • Be a fluent and proficient in Welsh and English
  • Have excellent SPaG skills in Welsh and English
  • Have working knowledge of the 2011 National Curriculum (Wales) and the new Curriculum for Wales 2022
  • Have excellent IT skills and the ability to operate fluently between a range of different IT platforms
  • Have experience designing and creating your own resources for the classroom
  • A keenness to promote positivity and problem-solving in the working environment

  • How to use our internal systems
  • How to follow Twinkl guidelines to produce high-quality resources

You’ll work with:

  • Twinkl Cymru product owner and country manager
  • Twinkl Cymru production team, including writers, editors, illustrators and designers
