Senior Nuclear Safety Consultant
Basingstoke
We support clients who operate civil and defence nuclear plant and facilities in highly regulated environments. This role is primarily to support our defence nuclear work-streams for a local client and candidates should expect a level of presence on the client site.
To support strong market demand and the ongoing development and growth of our Safety team, we are looking to grow our local safety presence. We are currently looking for an experienced nuclear safety consultant who has a proven track record in developing and leading teams of safety professionals. Experience would ideally come from the defence nuclear environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a consultancy environment and have existing or potential team leadership skills and the vision required to help the team grow.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have a degree in a relevant discipline with detailed knowledge in a number of the following areas:
You will require knowledge of nuclear safety management and its application throughout the plant lifecycle; including design, operation and decommissioning and will be able to demonstrate experience in producing the nuclear safety documentation required as part of the Site Licence amp; Authorisation Conditions.
You will have the ability to build relationships both externally with our clients and internal with our delivery teams and support functions. Within your area of expertise you will have a clear understanding of the current market demands and who the key clients are within that market.
You will be able to support senior management in the strategy development process by maintaining and communicating a vision for the Client Segment. You will have the ability to identify and support business development opportunities resulting in the preparation of estimates, proposals, budgets and documentation.
You will take a strong interest in understanding clients' problems and in shaping programmes of work to resolve them, against a backdrop of a highly regulated industry.
This position will provide the opportunity to help consolidate our existing key accounts and to develop our business with other clients into key accounts.
The candidate must achieve and maintain the necessary security clearances, these include to SC and DV levels.
