Senior Implementation and Test Engineer

We are seeking an outstanding Implementation and Testing Engineer to join our growing Lens Team of creative, highly skilled engineers. The Implementation and Test Engineer will be responsible for developing our prototypes, supporting the readiness for manufacturing lifecycle for our lenses which includes prototype and materials testing and simulation activities, working closely with the lens team in the support of the design process. The role responsibilities involve lens and material testing, test planning, collaboration with vendors, feeding lessons learnt to lens design, supporting the manufacturing at all stages of the life cycle. This role will report to the Director of Lens Antenna Engineering.

The compelling candidate will have hands-on experience in design, development, commissioning and support of implementation, testing and upscaling of prototypes to product components. Background and experience in material science or bespoke material system development and testing is key. Experience in readiness for manufacturing of lenses or optical RF components is ideal.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Materials testing and lens testing activities, including test plans and procedures.
  • Bespoke lens component compliance testing to product specifications.
  • Development and maintenance of lens component requirements as they relate to product specifications and standards.
  • Lens fabrication as it relates to assembly, integration, verification planning and implementation.
  • Failure mode analysis, tolerance and sensitivity analysis studies in collaboration with lens designers and the mechanical team.
  • Liaising with design team to ensure alignment between measurements are in line with simulations as well as lens prototype and product targets.
  • Statistical and data analysis of manufacturing tolerance window studies and performance metrics.
  • Report generation in support of development activities and product lifecycle documentation.
  • Tool development in support of simulation to measured data comparison as well as inputs to design optimization for improved manufacturability.
  • Close collaboration with vendors in development activities, including site visits and review of progress and testing reports.
  • Support of quality control activities.
  • Support of RF testing activities.

Requirements

  • Relevant Engineering, Materials Science, Physics degree required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in design, development, commissioning and support of implementation, testing and upscaling of prototypes to product components.
  • Material science background with experience in polymers and/or bespoke material systems and formulations.
  • Materials testing experience (dielectric RF and mechanical properties).
  • Practical measurement techniques, data correlation, results analysis and report generation.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing and testing of bespoke RF or optical components.
  • Experience in readiness for manufacturing programs and processes.
  • Failure mode, tolerance and sensitivity analysis.
  • RF measurement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Suite applications
