ED Validation Clinicians
We are looking for experienced clinicians to support the Think 111 First project on a secondment or sessional (self-employed) or minimum hours contract basis.
Think 111 First is a national model that offers people a different way of accessing and receiving healthcare, including a new way to access Emergency Departments.
The aim is to ensure our EDs are kept free for those who need them the most and to make it easier and safer for patients to get the right advice or treatment when they urgently need it. It will also help protect our capacity during the winter, as well as help maintain COVID-19 social distancing measures.
If you have broad competency in clinical practice and previous triage experience, we would like to hear from you.
About the role:
You will be based at our partner call centre in Chippenham or there may be an option to work remotely.
Shifts are available during the following times:
Fridays 17:00 to 23:00
Saturdays 10:00 to 22:00
Sundays 10:00 to 22:00
Mondays 17:00 to 23:00
Working from our call-centre in Chippenham, you will advise patients referred from the 111 service.
Anyone calling 111 will have their details taken by a call-handler and asked an important set of initial questions, to establish whether an emergency response (for serious or life-threatening illness or injury) is required and, if not, to gather further key information.
If ED is flagged as the likely outcome the caller will be listed for a call back, with possible video consultation, from the clinician who will be able to offer advice and/or refer the patient to the most appropriate clinical setting.
You may be an ENP or ANP, prescribing paramedic, GP, ED Consultant or doctor in training, and you will have experience of working within an ED setting.
