Xe is a leading international money transfer provider and a worldwide trusted currency authority. We have a high traffic site with around 250 million visitors every year and have recently implemented fundamental changes to the core technology stack to support our new mobile app with 8 million users.
In this role, you will work in an Agile fashion to deliver and own a new mobile and web application built upon a robust and highly available shared, headless API back-end.
We are heavily investing in our technology team and these products will be key for the public and secure websites transformation in 2021.
In This Role You Will:
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of the new Xe Consumer App and Web application.
- Mentor and support junior developers in your team.
- Able to contribute to architectural discussions and own decisions.
- Continually learn new skills and technology.
- Work to a fortnightly cadence delivering continuous value.
- Be part of a team which delights and excites millions of end users resulting in increased revenue through App or Web of 20%.
Requirements
- Ability to adapt quickly and develop in-depth technical understanding of new applications and complex technologies
- 5+ years of professional experience developing responsive web applications in an end-to-end Agile environment using and supporting fully automated CI/CD pipelines
- Experienced in Angular, JavaScript/Typescript and .net core or node and associated best development practices
- Must produce clean, effective and maintainable code.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong can-do attitude
- Solid TDD/unit test practitioner
- Strong data structure and algorithms skills.
- Eager to learn and share knowledge
Desirable
- Delivered at least one or more production-level apps using Ionic, Cordova or similar, with React or ideally Angular
- Experience of building Microservice Architectures using ReST or GraphQL, .Net Core v3
- Experience working at a Fintech or web/mobile agency plus some exposure to Enterprise
- Experience of deploying into AWS and using native services like SQS, DynamoDB, Aurora, Kinesis, Lambdas
- Event Source Architectures, Eventual Consistency models
- Awarenss of Node, Java, GoLang, Scala, PHP, Python polyglot
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Practical knowledge of functional development principles.
