Central Functions is formed of the teams and people that serve the entire business. These people are integral to the smooth running of the business; ensuring everyone is paid on time, that materials are sourced and arrive promptly, that we meet our legal obligations and that our health, safety, and security is safeguarded.

The Facilities team is responsible for maintaining all THG sites, ensuring that all colleagues and visitors are in a clean, safe environment while on site. As a Plumber you will efficiently undertake a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes and HVAC systems with a goal to install and maintain well-functioning systems that transport water, waste, gases or hot liquids.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance to all plumbing, heating and ventilation, hot amp; cold water mechanical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of all preventative maintenance and repair work carried out and report any substandard or defective equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
• Escort specialist contractors and work beside them as required.
• Respond, diagnose and resolve plumbing to emergencies;
• Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
• Comply with all safety procedures and requirement
• Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling and electrical work as required
• Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required

Requirements

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade

• Knowledge of building regulations and standards, safety regulations, and safety practices

• Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings

• Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper

• Excellent problem solving skills

• Ability to plan ahead.

• Able to prioritize work and manage their own time

• Ability to work on own initiative.

• ‘Can do’ attitude

• Good level of computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office packages.

• Relevant mechanical engineering qualification e.g. NVQ, ONC, OND, Engineering would be an advantage

• Full UK Driving license
