Central Functions is formed of the teams and people that serve the entire business. These people are integral to the smooth running of the business; ensuring everyone is paid on time, that materials are sourced and arrive promptly, that we meet our legal obligations and that our health, safety, and security is safeguarded.

The Facilities team is responsible for maintaining all THG sites, ensuring that all colleagues and visitors are in a clean, safe environment while on site.

As the Post Room Manager you will support the Facilities Manager to operate the consolidated Post Room services for the ICON complex, delivering excellent customer-friendly service, which provides an efficient, pro-active and cost-competitive service to the occupiers with a strong focus on exceptional service delivery. As Post Room Manager you will implement and deliver and a quality postal and logistic service with impeccable attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all post room operatives on a daily basis including operational and welfare issues.
  • Be responsible for the professional conduct amp; development of his/her Post Room Operatives.
  • Ensure that all post room operatives are correctly trained on all procedures and equipment.
  • Manage the receiving, sorting and distributing of incoming and outgoing Royal Mail and courier related items in good time.
  • Manage the online Royal Mail Business Account.
  • Effectively deal with enquiries from the colleagues, both face to face and on the telephone
  • Book and receipt all courier items.
  • Manage the processing and tracking of items.
  • Ensure franking procedures are carried out correctly.
  • Manage the internal areas of the post room so that it is a safe hazard free environment for post room operatives to conduct their daily duties.
  • Oversee and manage the external area outside the post room entry door and ensure that all goods are delivered promptly to colleagues and that any items to be picked up for colleagues are removed in good time.
  • Ensure all post room staff are trained and multi tasked to work in all areas of the service
  • Maintain inventory and order postal supplies and products as assigned

Requirements

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working in a busy Post Room environment and understand the risks and tasks involved
  • Ability to plan ahead.
  • Able to prioritize work and manage their own time and work under pressure
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Highly responsive and proactive, able to drive forward tasks from start to finish
  • ‘Can do’ attitude
  • Good level of computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office packages.
  • Full UK Driving license
