Job Description

Our Marketing team is responsible for managing the National Lottery brand and communicating our exciting games, events, winners and Good Cause stories to our target audiences, promoting play in a safe environment and maintaining a strong focus on operational integrity.

As the Marketing Investment amp; Compliance Manager you will be responsible for making sure our marketing investments are optimised across all channels, as well as reviewing our processes and ways of working to ensure peak performance both internally and with our agencies and suppliers. In seeking to continuously improve our key processes, you will help us to mitigate and manage risk, making sure that we are compliant with our license commitments from a marketing perspective. If you have a proven track record of building relationships with and influencing senior level stakeholders in a Marketing environment and have worked in a regulated or process-driven business where operational integrity is paramount, we would love to hear from you.

How you'll make a difference

Working with the Head of Marketing Strategy amp; Activation, the Marketing Investment amp; Compliance Manager will be responsible for the optimisation of the Marketing budget in conjunction with budget holders, driving operational excellence through a focus on continuous process improvement and compliance and ensuring key risks across the Marketing function are identified, mitigated and regularly reviewed.


What you'll bring to the table

  • You are an accomplished operator, with a deep understanding of how a Marketing Department works, and a passion for improving ways of working, process, returns on marketing investment and mitigating risk through more effective controls. You have the ability to work closely with Marketing Department Heads and their teams to deliver your objectives, being a great networker and can quickly grasp what they are trying to achieve and help them put in place better process, strong business cases, approaches to measure ROI, Supplier / agency governance and risk management frameworks
  • You operate with gravitas and are effective in managing multiple stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, being a brilliant communicator and influencer, to deliver your objectives
  • You have ideally worked in a company operating in a regulated environment and strong on continuous improvement, process and risk management and have led activities to improve these with great success
  • You are curious and love the opportunity to find better ways of doing things within a fast-paced Marketing Department, to deliver better results with less business risk.
  • You are skilled in mapping processes and putting in place appropriate self-assessment controls to confirm our processes are fit-for-purpose, being followed by our teams and ‘tested’ regularly to identify any gaps changes or improvement opportunities
  • You have strong analytical and business case development skills and have experience in measuring the effectiveness of marketing activity across multiple channels
  • You have good prioritisation skills and are able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and delivery deadlines
